exhausted.
We started the day at the Jade Temple, enjoying a tea service and
witnessing the day's worship. The place was filled with incense and
overwhelming crowds.
We moved on into the old town and visited a beautiful urban garden
filled with amazingly detailed rock enclosures, ornate buildings and
koi stocked ponds.
Soon afterwards we were left on our own for an hour. Connie and I
spent our time enjoying a few of the dishes being served on the
street. We had fried soft shell crab, Shanghai dumplings and an
awesome egg and leek thing that was a favorite so far.
We also enjoyed a traditional lunch with everything from seaweed to
watermelon. So much food!
We ended our afternoon at the Bund . . . the downtown waterfront
across from the modern skyscrapers of Pudong. There is so much to
see . . . even sailing billboards.
Can't wait for tomorrow.
